Free Dental Care Day
We, at Morgan Dental Care of the Portland Maine area, care about the community:
With the economy in the shape it’s in, there are more and more of our neighbors who simply can’t keep up with needed health care. We, at Morgan Dental Care, can’t just ignore this growing need. So, starting January 5th, we’re going to set aside an afternoon each month to help people in need with their dental needs…for free.
One challenge we have is to identify the people we can help most, the ones in greatest need, the ones most deserving.
If you know someone who:
- Has an acute dental need that is negatively impacting their life
- Is truly unable to cover the cost of basic care
- Is not engaging in on-going destructive habits or behaviors.
This might be somebody who is unemployed, and searching for work but is being held back by an unsightly dental problem; someone whose health is jeopardized by a dental infection or inability to chew their food; or somebody living with dental pain most of the time.
Please ‘nominate’ that person for consideration.
Before you give us a name, please contact the person and get their permission to let us contact them. Then, send us their name and briefly your reason for thinking of them. We will then contact them if we are able to provide care for them.
We, at Morgan Dental Care, will be offering a range of our gentle dentistry services, but for the most part we will be limiting our care to getting people ‘out of the woods’ with an acute need. Since we don’t normally do many extractions, that will not be a service we offer. And since MaineCare covers children, we are limiting also to adults over 21.
Please understand that we will have to make a selection of those who we think we can help the most and that we can’t select everyone nominated. So, if the person you nominate is not chosen, it is only because our limited time and resources don’t allow.
Any patient of Morgan Dental Care can make a nomination; but no ‘self-nominations‘ please.
It is our intent at Morgan Dental Care of the Portland Maine area to help people who can’t afford the care get past a crisis; but we won’t be able to provide their on-going care for free. We are able to provide free services only during the specified times.
